Fatigue that doesn’t lift.
Brain fog that makes simple tasks harder than they should be.
A sense that recovery has stalled.
For millions of people living with long COVID, these symptoms are daily realities—and there are still no validated treatments that reliably address them.
A recently published clinical study* offers a closer look at how Qigong was experienced by adults with long COVID over a six-week period.
In this small but carefully conducted study, nearly all participants reported perceivable physical sensations during Qigong, and many described meaningful changes in their symptoms.
Improvements were most commonly reported in fatigue, brain fog, and sleep, with some participants also noting shifts in mood, resilience, and day-to-day functioning.
Importantly, the intervention required minimal physical exertion, making it accessible to people who struggle with post-exertional symptom flare-ups.
Just as notable were the limits: not everyone improved, benefits varied in degree and duration, and the group-based format itself appeared to play a meaningful role.
The premium article breaks down exactly what participants experienced, which symptoms changed most often, how the group setting influenced outcomes, and what this study can—and cannot—tell us about recovery from long COVID.
